How To Order

How to Commission a Portrait
First decide which size of portrait you would like me to draw. If you are unsure, you can email the photos to me at kim@kimbusby.com and I will advise you based on the subject.

Next, decide which photo you would like me to draw. I can basically draw from anything, but advise that the eyes must be as clear as possible, as they are one of the most important features of the portrait. Or, if you decide to take a new and recent photo, please refer below for hints on how to take the perfect one.

How to take a good photo of your subject
Photos are best when taken with a good quality digital camera.
Try to make sure you are at eye level with your subject to capture their expression as best you can. For example, if I mention the word “biscuit” to my springer spaniel, she cocks her ears and looks very alert – this is perfect for a portrait. Or if your little one giggles all the time, try to capture this. Don’t worry if there is someone else in the photo as I can draw them out. If commissioning two subjects or more, try to take the photos separately, as with animals it’s sometimes hard to get them to look the same way!

Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers are available for any size of portrait and are a novel idea for a present. The voucher can be mailed directly to the person if required. All vouchers are digitally printed on 350gsm satin art paper and mailed in a C5 Conqueror CX22 Diamond White envelope… just to make them that little bit special.
